About this website
This website has been some years in the making. All the information given is based on my own research and taken from items in my personal collection. My fascination with Luise Rainer began when she appeared as a triumphant returning Oscar winner at the 70th Academy Awards ceremony in 1997. From then onwards I have been intrigued by her story and surprised at how little has been written about her extraordinary life and times. In an ideal world a writer better than I would take up the challenge to write an official biography, but, for now, I hope this website goes some way to celebrating her life and work. The aim of this site is to bring together as much information as possible about Luise's work on film, stage, television and other media, together with a biographical information; on the interview pages I hope to publish, or provide links, to articles, reviews and interviews in the media to create the most complete archive of such material available on the internet.
